"Thing 2"

Being a life long learner...

I love the part of the definition of a life long learner that says "learning occurs beyond the formal structure". We are learning everyday, when we go to the store, when we read a book, even watching a movie you might learn something new.

The habits that I related to most was #6 (Using technology to your advantage) and #1 (Begin with the end in mind). I taught PBL Summer School this summer this summer and could not believe how the students really took charge of their learning due to the non-formal environment. We began with an end in mind (a problem we gave to the students) and they used technology as the main part of their toolbox to create a solution to the problem.

I have used these habits many times in my life and plan to integrate them into my classroom even more this coming school year.
